Message : A year ago, the province made sweeping changes that allowed insurers to slash medical and rehabilitation benefits. These cuts were deep. At the time, the government said that by reducing basic benefits, insurance rates would stabilize. This plan has backfired. Premiums continue to increase at more than double the rate of inflation. So now we're paying more for less insurance. How is this in the best interests of consumers? As a motor vehicle insurance consumer and constituent of your riding, I would like to know what your position is on these issues. I would like you to publicly declare your support for: * freezing premiums and re-instating the benefits until an independent review of the auto insurance industry can be conduced * no longer allowing adjusters to deny medical claims without an independent medical opinion * requiring insurers to release financial and operations data for their auto insurance lines I look forward to hearing about your position on these very important issues.
