Message : In September 2010, the Ontario government drastically cut auto insurance benefits. As a result, my basic policy will only cover me for $50,000 in medical and rehabilitation costs if I am seriously injured. Now it seems the government wants to slash even further, this time reducing benefits for some of the most devastating injuries. Under the proposed new rules, a severe brain injury or paralysis, for example, may no longer qualify as catastrophic. CAT benefits of up to $1 million may be denied. Never again able to work, facing years of therapy and possibly life in a wheelchair, the accident victim will have to get by on $50,000. Why these changes? To bolster insurance company profits? Please stand up for the people of Ontario. I’m asking you to say NO to further benefit reductions.
