IEC I.E.C. Independent Evaluation Centre Conducts medical evaluations and assessments for people injured in motor vehicle accidents to provide an independent and objective opinion on their health.
LAT Lat Licensing Appeals Tribunal The Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) is an independent, quasi-judicial agency and is one of the thirteen tribunals in Tribunals Ontario.

LAT adjudicates applications and resolves disputes concerning compensation claims and licensing activities regulated by the provincial government, including those activities of delegated administrative authorities.

PA P.A. Protected Account A protected account is an irrevocable agreement in which the injured person and his or her therapist agree to continue to work together without immediate payment for service. The agreement is such that the account will eventually be paid when the claim settles.

SABS Sabz Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule A mandatory no-fault auto insurance coverage in Ontario, included with all basic auto insurance policies.

Administered by the Automobile Accident Benefits Service of Ontario, accident benefits are paid through the auto insurer covering the vehicle. If injuries are suffered when a vehicle hits a pedestrian or bicyclist, the claimant will have to file a claim with the insurance company of the vehicle that hit them.

WPI W.P.I. Whole Person Index rating Assigns percentages to the various impairments and calculates an overall Impairment rating. If this overall rating exceeds 55%, the claimant is deemed CAT.
